Wandering On Elsewhere - Bye For Now (but you can visit me here...)

This blog began as a journal of my time spent living & studying overseas on exchange, and then turned into a kind of living shrine for all the memories I had made in Europe.

Now, having been back for a little over a year & bogged down in my final semester of uni, 
I feel that this blog has served it's purpose. 

For now anyway, until the next big journey (hopefully coming soon, early next year).

While I will still occasionally post here,
I invite you to visit me on my artist's tumblr

& all that comes after for my artsy career,

where I still remain as lost & wandering as ever,

My most recent series, 'Investigation into Drawing Part 2',

is part of an ongoing investigation into exploring what is 'drawing', 

specifically drawing which 

is a kind of wandering into a land of the unknown. 

Drawing which is intuitive and free, 

and is created through a collaboration 

between nature and self.

Each piece begins with a silk organza disc, 

and is drawn in collaboration with 

various plant materials, time & ink.

The piece: crazy sequin, glitter fest of a top.

Because I love something with a bit of texture, and something that's a bit crazy. Like a little lost 80s disco ball I found this baby hiding amongst the rubble at the local Vinnies.

Line Sander SS13

I love looking at things that appear as

collections, archives, catalogues, souvenirs, records.

Each little piece captures a little bit of an essence, a person, or a place,

that I immediately want to store away.

Cue Line Sander Johansen's SS13 'The Replica' collection, based within the thought of leftovers, scraps & remnants from a traveller's journey, 

the 'things a traveler carries, blissfully reminding her of the places she visited'.

I'm not normally one for animal print of any kind

but there must be something in the air

because I'm going a little wild for the idea of a faux 

leopard print trench, or leopard print booties. 

Sundays.

Sundays on bed rest are

get well pressies from close friends

some are hand made of the eating kind

(hand made chai icecream & cheesecake)

and some are of the wearing kind

(beautiful denim shirts to continue with my denim obsession).
